Archery targets take a beating. Not only from the archer, but also the weather, mainly from the sun’s punishing UV rays. As someone who lives in Southern California, and who doesn’t always bring his targets indoors (if ever), I needed a target that would withstand a heavy dose of Mother Nature and abuse from my bowhunting equipment. Gear gets beat up in my house because I utilize it and I am hard on gear. For the last 6-months, I have been repeatedly shooting slim-diameter arrows into the same Morrell Yellowjacket YJ-425 Field Point Bag Archery Target with surprising results.
Now, the Morrell Yellowjacket YJ-425 Field Point Bag Archery Target is not recommended for outserts or field points larger than arrow shaft.

Over 2,000 shots into the Morrell Yellowjacket YJ-425 !
At 32 lbs, it’s easy enough to carry to my truck, fit in my archery cart to wheel out the 120 yards to the range targets and it’s manageable for one person. I’m sold on the Morrell Yellowjacket YJ-425 for my archery practice. It’s still stopping slim-diameter arrows from a 76# bow six months after I started using it. That said, I do plan on getting one of the Morrell broadhead targets soon. That will allow me to fine tune and zero in my hunting arrows.
I highly recommend the Morrell Yellowjacket YJ-425 to all archers, specifically bowhunters. I say specifically bowhunters because this target is built to withstand arrows and bolts up to 425 FPS, and while I did have my daughter shoot arrows from her recurve, they don’t punch into the target with the same zip. The arrows tend to hang down a bit due to lack of penetration. Yet, it still stops the arrows and give her a chance to shoot at different bullseyes. When I shoot my compound, the arrows bite into the target with a pop and it is extremely satisfying.
Given that the Morrell Yellowjacket YJ-425 Archery Target can be found in stores and online easily, you will have no issue finding one. You will be able to transport this to camp, shoot it in your backyard, or use it at the range with other archers. The Morrell Yellowjacket YJ-425 Field Point Bag Archery Target can be found anywhere from $45-65 depending where you look, and it’s an investment I recommend highly. Go pick one up and start using a high-quality, durable archery target that will last you a long time!
